I've recently been checking into investing. I've heard here and there about this and that, and I guess I just wanted some more opinions about the following: (if it helps, I'm a 25- year- old college student with a lot of time left to play the game) BJBHX GFA AHITX PGOVX

Check Yahoo Finance for listings, 10K's, yearly financial statements, etc., and check Moody's for other business news about them.

BJBHX 51% up in the past year. This is the last place I'd put my money. This is a high yield bond fund. It's value will sink as interest rates go up... dramatically. GFA This is an Brazilian ADR. Nice looking chart. Very volitile. Dangerous. Good for a small perentage of your assets. AHITX American Funds is one of the best fund companies in the USA. Expensive "loads " to get in. I prefer only no load funds. But even if this wasn't loaded... I'd stay clear of this fund... for the same reason on BJBHX. PGOVX Pimco is the best bond fund Mutual Fund company in the USA. But... this is a long term bond fund. It will get killed as interest rates go up... which they will. You are chasing performance... which is the typical #1 mistake new investors make (especially when buying Mutual Funds). You need to create a good "asset allocation " model and then choose what to get into. These current choices will bury you in the next year or two.
